"We originally booked Katie for our engagement shoot to see how it would work for our wedding and she put us at ease instantly. We loved the photos so much we instantly booked her for our wedding 2 years away!!
All was ready and booked but sadly I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months before our wedding and so to ensure we got married before my chemo started we had to move the wedding with 2 weeks notice. I emailed Katie and she immediately moved everything to be there for our wedding and offered to help out with suppliers etc. On the day she was absolutely fantastic. It was such an emotional day and Katie made everyone feel relaxed and managed to perfectly capture the love and emotion of the day. The photos came out way better than we could have ever imagined and we cannot thank Katie enough for everything."
Hattie and Harry, were do I even start with Hattie and Harry. They booked an engagement shoot with me to test out if they wanted to use me for their wedding (a very sensible idea!). Needless to say we had so much fun at their engagement shoot and they booked me for their 2019 wedding shortly after, which at that point was over two years away!
We all waited in anticipation for the big day to arrive in December 2019, with their elegant Elvetham Hotel wedding. In October 2019 Hattie and I strolled around the grounds on a venue visit, discussing the trees that were being brought in, to line the ceremony room and the lengths that were being undertaken to turn this already stunning venue into a winter wonderland wedding.
It was just over two weeks later when I received a devastating email from Hattie, she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. In order to have their dream wedding day before starting chemo they were re-organising their wedding day, to 13 days time.
I immediately contacted all of the families I had booked in for mini shoots that day (thank you again to everyone who was so accommodating) and re-booked their wedding for the 10th November 2019. Sadly The Elvetham could no longer cater for their new date, so the wedding took place at the equally beautiful, but much more intimate, Spread Eagle Hotel in Midhurst.
I was unsure what to expect when I arrived in the morning, it was always going to be an emotional day but I feared how the news that this family had been hit with a mere two weeks before would impact the day. Well, never again will I question the love and resilience of the human spirit. This was the most joyous, love filled wedding day I had ever experienced, every friend and family member had pitched together to create Hattie and Harry's perfect day at short notice. The happiness that oozed (never thought I'd use that word on a wedding blog) from the couple was completely infectious and stirred such positive emotion in everyone who was around them.
This is a large gallery, so I hope you enjoy looking through these moments as much as I enjoyed capturing them.
Dan Todd and I had the opportunity to work with lots of very talented suppliers at this amazing wedding
